The Shimberg Center for Housing Studies conducts research relating to the problems and solutions associated with the availability of affordable housing in Florida. We produce the Florida Housing Data Clearinghouse (http://flhousingdata.shimberg.ufl.edu), which provides public access to data on Florida's housing needs and supply, subsidized rental housing, and household demographics.

Our Assisted Housing Inventory (AHI) is a database of Florida's properties with federal, state or local subsidies and includes extensive data relevant to preservation; check it out at http://flhousingdata.shimberg.ufl.edu/AHI_introduction.html. We also produce a Web site with research on the use of data to facilitate preservation at http://preservation.shimberg.ufl.edu.
