The Urban Land Institute Chicago (ULI Chicago) and The Preservation Compact are pleased to present Responding to Multifamily Foreclosure, a new technical assistance tool for municipalities struggling with foreclosure in condominium and rental properties. This is the final report from the technical assistance workshop that was discussed on the Dec. 8th Center for Housing Policy webinar.

Co-sponsored by The Preservation Compact and in partnership with the Villages of Arlington Heights and Oak Park, the workshop produced a set of assessment strategies to support repositioning of foreclosed multifamily buildings for long-term affordable rental housing and a step-by-step guide to evaluate distress in condominium properties.

Responding to Multifamily Foreclosure outlines the recommendations issued by the Workshop Panel (a multidisciplinary team of real estate and housing experts), and empowers municipalities with proactive steps to capitalize on opportunities today that support stable, comprehensive housing options tomorrow.
